Mike Warner - Godan - (5th Degree Black Belt)

I began my training in karate in 1974 at the local Boy’s Club under
Chuck Dewall and studied there for a few years. In 1980 I began training
at Walters State Community College in Seibukan Shorin-Ryu Karate, an
Okinawan style of Martial Art, under John Thuran. I reached the rank
of Brown Belt during that time. During the same time I studied with
Billy Golden in Moo Duk Kwan - Tae Kwon Do, reaching the rank of Green Belt.

After a hiatus from karate in the 1990’s I began my karate studies again
in the 2000’s. In 2011 I received my First Degree Black Belt. In 2012 I
began studying MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and Self-defense at the Overholt Karate School
and I was awarded my second degree black belt on June 9th 2012. I am currently
studying at the Overholt School and look forward to many more years there
improving my skills and pursuing the martial arts.
